I am FINALLY over my sickness and it feels soooooo good ~~~
It's crazy how I take my health for granted when I'm healthy, but as soon as I'm decently sick, that's the only thing I can think of. Anyway, I'm really glad that I'll be fully healed by the end of this week because it means that I can finally start my YouTube shenanigans.
what? Nick? Did I read that right?!
Yes, yes you did. As I wrote in my 2020 goals list, I am starting a YouTube channel and it will be my main focus this year. I will update you guys more on this throughout the year :)
So for now, let's get ittt.
Ever since I came up with my list of 2020 goals, I've been ignoring that list like I would ignore a fly that's outside of my house and isn't making noise aka a lot !! It's so weird because this "list" is supposed to be everything I want to concentrate on this year, but I'm somehow still thinking about what I should do during my spare time. Should I go to the gym? Should I start a new project? Should I go learn woodworking? Should I write more? (yes, I should). And I'm so baffled because I shouldn't have to be thinking about "spare time" because I should be using all my spare time to concentrate on my 2020 goals !
It's so weird, in some way, I feel like this is just a bullshit list that I made up in order to have some goals just for the sake of having goals. In hindsight, I might be feeling this way because by looking at this year, even if I accomplish all of them, there's nothing "major" in them. And that's exactly the problem, I tend to always think that everything has to be grandiose and BuzzFeed worthy.
1250 subscribers? nah, I'd want 50k by the end of the year !
Only read 13 books? Why don't you read 52, now THAT would be impressive !
3 Realized Ideas? How about 12 ! 1 every month, I bet that'll really impress people !
25 substack subscribers? Okay well, this one actually is absurdly low, but I think I just put it there "for fun".
In reality though, the reason why I set up these very normal numbers is exactly for that. For them to be normal and attainable. I think because of all the stories we see on the internet, we always tend to veer towards being "overnight successes", but as the illustrious J.Cole once said during his concert "There ain't no such thing as an overnight success." We simply don't see all the hard work that's being done in the background.
So maybe for the first year, I'll have something like 1300 subscribers hopefully. And then, the second year my goal will increase to 5k and the next year will be 10k then 25k and then 50k and then... Well, I'll see when I get there. But you see, instead of having that 50k the first year, I'll simply have it during my fifth year. Almost the same thing in the LONG TERM. The only difference is that it gives me a much better chance of actually attaining my goals and not discouraging myself.
But hey, if you have the drive to get that 50k in the first year, then don't let me stop you ! Go ahead Usain Bolt haha.
All that's left now is to.... Stay focused, not lose sight of my goals and work on them diligently every day.
